The Waukesha County Jail inmate who was shot and wounded after he attacked a sheriff's deputy has been identified as Steven P. Lettenberger.

Forty-three-year-old Steven P. Lettenberger was in critical condition Friday. A hospital spokeswoman said Saturday she had no listing for Lettenberger, speculating that his information had been rendered confidential.
